August 6th 2008 – Most loyal Packer fans are irate with management!
Waffling aside, if your MVP Quarterback wants to return after getting you one play from the Super Bowl, do you:
A: Welcome him back?
B: Make Lame Excuses to Not Welcome him Back?
C: Try to Pay him $20 million to stay retired?
D: Trade him to another Team?
E: None of the Above.
The current Green Bay Packer management had chosen B, C and now appears to be trying option D. This situation is WAY out of control. The general feeling among everyone that we have spoken to is the they have ALL lost any respect for these three clowns, and when that happens in Green Bay, you might as well GO PACK, your bags! If egos could have been left on the sideline, Brett Favre would be back on the team and all would be well with the world. This fiasco seems to have sent ripples of disruption throughout the entire NFL and even the world. The pieces are all over the floor and the public is going to want to know EXACTLY who caused this mess and why. I doubt the lame excuses we have heard so far will stand up in the court of public opinion. These three stooges need to remember who owns that team! If Rodger’s lays an egg on Monday Night Football next week, heads will roll! For more discussion, see the Packer Forum.
UPDATE: Spring 2009
A change of heart has occurred between the time Favre left Green Bay and up until about 10 minutes ago. I have been learned that Favre has AGAIN waffled his way past training camp with the Vikings and is on his plane at this moment in a rumored attempt to sign with the “Queens”. I would hope Brad Childress is smart enough to turn him down, but I doubt it.
IMHO, the Packer’s defensive line should place a bounty on Favre’s head to retire him once and for all, kind of like the late Charles Martin and his hit list on Da Bears Jim McMahon in the 86 season.
I am hearing already of Favre jersey & memorabilia burning parties right before the October 5th and November 1st games. I have lost all respect for Brett Favre.
UPDATE: October 6th 2009
Favre gets his revenge against Ted Thompson, so maybe old Teds decision was bad to begin with. There HAS to be more to this story than meets the eye. It looks like Favre was driven out of Green Bay, probably because he wanted too much of a hand in making managerial decisions, which Ted could not handle.
Help get Ted Thompson OUT of the Green Bay Packer organization at: http://www.firetedthompsonnow.com
Fire Ted Thompson NOW!
UPDATE : 2/2/2011
Packer fans loved Favre, and by the above post, many including myself had doubted Ted Thompson’s decision to release the man that all fans associated with the face of the Green Bay Packers. If only we all had the 20/20 hindsight of Mr. Thompson.
Two and a half years after that fateful day, we find ourselves with a new field general and the new face of the Green Bay Packers, #12 Aaron Rodgers. I NEVER in my wildest dreams could have imagined the success the Packer team has seen with Rodgers at the helm. The guy is simply amazing and no matter what happens this coming Superbowl Sunday Aaron Rodgers has captured the hearts or Packer fans around the world. Packer pride did not rest for long and that is thanks to Ted Thompson, coach Mike McCarthy and Mike Murphy.
Read how Ted Thomspon’s choice to release Favre paved the way for the current Packers success.
Our apology to the former stooges. You’re now heroes!
GO PACK GO!
Update 2/7/2011
Packers win Superbowl 45, maybe the last Superbowl you’ll ever see!
And GO they did, all the way to win the Superbowl! The Green Bay Packers convincingly beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25 and they are bringing the Lombardi Trophy back home where it belongs! The story doesn’t end here, or does it? If there is a lockout next year, that means that by default, the Packers would hold the crown for two consecutive years.
On a gloomier note, if the Mayan calendar predictions end up being correct, the world ends on 12/21/2012 and this is the last Superbowl you’ll ever see. Packers are champions into eternity! GO PACK GO!
