When people come over, they immediately gravitate to our "home brew" juke box.
If you have a large collection of CD's, you can "rip" them onto the hard drive of the PC that powers this musical beast.
With have over TEN THOUSAND songs in my home jukebox, and I never have to mess with the pile of open CD cases after a party. The software can be either purchased online or you can use one of the many freeware jukebox programs or simply Windows Media Player. | 
| | Add your favorite Karaoke software and now you've also got a Karaoke Machine. Want more ideas? Load it up with the Atari Classics software (costs a whoppin' PENNY on Amazon) and now you also have a cool 80's vintage video game console. | This is a great project for the novice to intermediate wood worker.

| Juke Box, Karaoke and Video Game Console Cabinet Plans | This is really just a glorified computer desk, but it's shape is based on our bar plans and you can pull up a barstool, rest you arms on the extended front "rail" and set you drink (on a coaster please) on the flat work surface.
The "guts" consist of a Pentium 4 Class PC, 200Gb hard drive, Flat Screen LCD monitor and a 300 watt Dolby 5.1 Home Theater which includes a 120 watt sub woofer. I can't tell the difference between the sound of this unit and an actual factory built jukebox. In fact, this one sounds better!
With a $2.00 Y-adapter from Radio Shack, you can pipe the optically isolated digital output signal to another receiver/amplifier to fill the entire basement with ear splitting tunes.
This is one project you will want to build to compliment your home bar & rec-room.
