Beginner's Luck? "Hi Guy's, I purchased the plans off your web-site.
When I tell you I have never made anything in my life, I am not kidding.
I had never used a table saw or a circular saw before I took on this project.
I found your plans to be very easy to follow. Once I got to the finish part of the bar, trim, top, etc...., I felt a little more comfortable and I used some different types of material.

I have since gone out and purchased a compound miter saw, circular saw, jig saw, cordless drill and many other tools for my next project. Since the bar came out so good, my wife now has many projects for me to attempt. I just wanted to share these with you and thank you for making these plans so easy for a beginner like me. Thanks guys".

45 Degree Mod: "After reading how pleased your customers were with your bar plans and after seeing how beautiful the finished bars were, I order your plans for myself. They were right. The project wasn't hard at all. I built the L-shaped model with just a circular saw and compound miter saw. I actually built a 4 foot bar and a 6 foot bar and then connected them together. After adding the wet bar, it's turned into the focal point of my basement. Thanks for the great plans and the picture galleries". Gary B.

"I had a great time building this bar and I am speaking for anyone out there that has never worked with wood before when I say that it wasn't hard and it was very rewarding. The plans are very detailed, and the encouragement to go out on your own and be more creative were wonderful. I surprised myself with the way the laminate bar top turned out, and was happy with the way the extra trim on the front of the bar and the molding above the beer well turned out. When we move out of this house, I think I am going to leave this bar there, so I can build a new one and try to add more to it.

"We refinished our basement and I really wanted to build a nice bar. Looked for months for plans on-line, but didn't find anything I liked. Your plans were great, easy, and it only took me a weekend to complete the project. I adapted your designs to fit my 12 foot space, and added a two tap draft tower. Broke it in with a party a couple of weeks ago and people loved it (they couldn't believe I built it myself). My problem is now I keep looking for ways to improve it. "The bar plans were a great help, I remodeled my basement around the bar. I built it out of poplar and birch plywood for the top. I used maple for rail...I had some left over poplar, so I built a real neat light box above the bar, again thanks for the plans, I know have a corner I can call my own". Don H., York, Pa

"I modified your bar plans to build an L-shaped bar which is 6 feet across in the front and 4 feet on the side. I basically extended the plans around the corner and followed all of the same principles. I still need to do some finish work with the fill in between the planks, and to go over the varnish a little- but I am more than pleased with the way it all turned out".

"I wanted to give you all a better look at the bar top. So here is a good look at the Black Walnut bar top with a real Oak Chicago bar rail. The contrast looks great and brings up the grain in the Black Walnut. I must say this bar top came out better then I had hope for, considering this is the first time I had ever joined boards together to make anything. Also I have to thank the man responsible for this web site. He really does a nice job with this site and He gave me allot of great Ideas for this Bar". Greg G.

Total cost in parts & paint, etc = $215. I am quite happy with the results and couldn't have purchased a bar with more character anywhere! Easily reduced the size of the bar to six feet wide. "Well it took some time, but I finally got the bar finished. I want to thank Barplan.com for the plans, to give me a basic foundation. I combined the L-shaped bar & Kegger bar, to accomplish my L-shaped bar with work counter. I know I should have taken more pictures, but it was hard to stop and grab the camera. The bar ended up being somewhere close to 5'x9', with two 3.2 fridges underneath, a 3 tiered bottle area, and 2 shelves. The under counter space is perfect for sliding beer, wine,& liquor glasses, as well as shooters. I used all oak wood, (because I know my friends and didn't want someone being able to tip or move the bar), and stained it red- mahogany to stand out against the honey oak floor. I didn't exactly take the cheap way out, oak arm rail & brass foot rail, but these are what get noticed and talked about the most ".
