whats the best way to anchor arm rest moulding to a 4to 6 overhang

Usually people just use glue and stainless steel finishing nails driven very carefully from above, then countersunk and the holes puttied and sanded.
That’s the cheap & easy way….Other methods include using a pocket hole at the seams then gluing and screwing from below.
