Hi. I may have missed it in the plans, but how much does the bar top overhang? I’m going to start this weekend, and I’ve been making modifications to the plans to make a ‘U’ shaped with a keggar and sink. But I can’t seem to find the actual overhang length.

      Thanks.

EDIT: Nevermind. I read a few searches on the topic. Some suggested 3.5 – 4″ others 8″? Most posts says eyeball it. I’m not using the foot rest but some brass railing. So I guess I have to go off that.

        That is correct.

If you study the plans and take the top width minus the base width, you should come up with the overhang (the difference).
In many cases, builder’s omit the foot rest or even the over hang.
As a rule of thumb, the foot rest and overhang should be equal.

Making the overhang too extreme and the bar could become tippy, forcing you to firmly secure the bar to the floor.

Some recent photos in the gallery show a rustic bar with a larger than avergae overhang and that too looks cool.
