I would like to use the cove cut arm rest molding on my bar. The diagram shows a 1/2″ base sheet and a 3/4″ filler/support and beer gutter. My bar is going to be made of oak. I don’t have to use oak for the base sheet do I? (being as it would be covered by the finished top and arm rest). What material would you suggest for the base sheet? For the height of the bar, do I need to make a 1/2″ adjustment for the base sheet and a 3/4″ adjustment for the filler/support/beer gutter? I am a true novice and would welcome any help that anyone could offer. Thanks.
