Question about shopping list vs Cut list – Any help

First I just want to say hello to any that come to this board. I am new here and I am very excited to eventually build my first bar.

The question I have however is with the L shaped bar plans. In the Shopping list section it says that you will need 26 total 2 x 4’s (some are 8 foot, some are 10 foot if you follow the plans). It also mentions to by a few extra in case you mess up.

But the cut list on the next page suggests that you will be going through around 57 pieces of wood. Did I make a mistake in what I was reading or will some of the original wood be able to be used elsewhere for the cut list?

Thanks again for any help you can provide. I am sure I will have more questions as I think about this entire process. The room I am just starting is going to be a work in progress and I plan to have the bar in there at the end.

Are you counting the panels and trim boards too?

It should work out…but I’ll be happy to go back and try to find where any confusion may arise.

I think what I may be doing is looking at the shopping list….and then looking at the cut list. But I am getting myself confused on the part where it has the quantity listed on the cut list. When I see the part titled sideframe and the quantity listed at 11….I didnt look at the length of 22 inches so that is making me think I need alot more 2x4s then I really need.
