    You can use white glue (Elmer’s) to secure them down and hold them in place. Get as close to edges are you can with out it squirting out the sides to stop thinner coasters from curling up. You should not have an issue with the thicker ones curling.

    Just a follow up to this.
    I almost made the same mistake. If you look closely at the instructions for the Envirotex where it show the coverage area, it actually states:

    Coverage: (Surface sealed prior to coating)
    Layer is approx, 1/16″ thick

    Gallon Kit …….32 square feet

    Which it sounds like from your description they are pretty close.

    Where I think the confusion comes from is they suggest applying the product at no more than 1/8″ per layer. Which is the next thing stated below the coverages given.
