how tall is it when acually completed
February 15, 2007 at 8:01 pm #19947AnonymousGuestMine ended up at 46″.
I have 30″ inch bar stools that fit well. It’s also just about the right height for leaning on.February 16, 2007 at 4:19 pm #19950AnonymousGuestthanks beer baron
February 16, 2007 at 4:21 pm #19951AnonymousGuestthanks beer baron. i have 1 more question i want to make a u shaped bar the is 8′ long and the sides 4′ ft long how would i cut down to size?
February 16, 2007 at 8:04 pm #19952AnonymousGuestI was wrong on the the 46″. I measured last night and it was 44″. It does feel like the right height though.
I assume by making the U-bar, you are going to be just mirroring the L-shape plans to add another leg.
I shortened my L-shape bar to 5’x7′. In doing so I just deleted length from the frame. On the plans, the items relating to length are highlighted in yellow. Since the L front is going to be 8′ you won’t want to change the length of that side (leave it at 123.5″). Just change the lengths of the base front (100″) and base rear (93″). Obviously you’ll need to change the lengths of the cross beams, gutter, foot rest, etc. as well.
Hope that helped.
Good luck.
February 16, 2007 at 8:07 pm #19953AnonymousGuestCasper,
Sorry, disregard most of my last response. I didn’t think that last response through. The plans are for a 8’x10′ bar. So you’ll need to deduct length from all the items highlighted in yellow.
Sorry again.February 17, 2007 at 5:42 pm #19957AnonymousGuesti just printed out plans for the lkegger bar ,and i saw no sections highlighted in yello, just blue, and that was for the trim.so if i wanted a 46″ high bar would i just add 2″ to the front frame and 2″ to the back counter supports?
February 17, 2007 at 7:53 pm #19958AnonymousGuestI’ll be honest with you casper, the l-shaped staggered wet bar was out of my league. It had some cuts that required tools I didn’t have.
I built the l-shaped bar and incorporated the straight kegger plans.Regarding size changes, for height I would think adding two inches would be simple.
Regarding length, I would guess you could probably adjust the size by deducting from the frame, but I’m not sure where because of the staggered bar. Probably need to get some advice from someone who built that bar. Also, because I built a different bar, I’m not sure if a kegerator would fit under the staggered bar. I think one would fit under mine. I’ll still send you some pictures. Sorry, I couldn’t be more help.
