the plans show for a foot rest out of wood, but i was thinking of building it straight up to ease the install of foot rails in the future. Can anyone help me out with the measurements and any issues that might come up.
In the base framing, just trim off the foot rest supports flush with the front of the bar. See page 6 of the plans for a detail of the base framing.
