I PURCHASED THE HAND RAILS FROM ROCKLER. HAVING TROUBLE GETTING THE ANGLES CUT. I HAVE A MITER SAW. HOW DO I LAY THE RAIL ON THE SAW TO GET THE PROPER CUTS. DO I LAY IT ON THE SAW AS YOU WOULD CUT CROWN? THANKS, FOR ANY HELP. FINAL STAGE OF FINISHING THE BAR.

Yeah it’s not an easy molding to cut because the support structure it will rest on is not present…so…
I built a jig that fits exactly like the bar top and placed it under the arm rail to be sure it is in the same position as it will be on the actual bar top.
This will allow you to make the cuts in the proper orientation.

Since each type of arm rail is a little different, you’ll have to fab up your own jig based on what you’ve already built.

Thanks sam, did you turn the hand rail upside down like when you cut crown or just lay the arm rail as it would lay on the bar. I have the small profile.

I just laid it right side up , since it’s virtually impossible to do upside down with the jig.
Just use a sharp fine tooth blade.
