I have not started building my bar, yet! I want to install a brass footrest. Is the footrest shown on the plans necessary for stability? Or can it be eliminated without any problem?

    Thanks!

Foot rest is only about 5″ wide. Bar is quite heavy when lined and sheved on the inside. Why not add some anchors to the floor on the insise before you add any floor sheathing.
You can always test it out before you fasten a floor to the inside. Is your bar going to be against a wall ? If so you can fasten to the studs of the wall for support.
My bar was made out of oak and oak plywood with a tile top. Although I have the foot rest I would not need it I don’t think.

Keep the footrest and add the brass rail above it.

Having the brass rail that lowe is not correct and not having something below it makes it look like it’s floating.
