Hello Im looking at three differnet woods to use, Oak which i know everyone uses but how about Birch or maple would those work also as your 3/4 venner plywood

also I just read about some one that used 3/4 plywood and then covered that with 1/4 oak plywood, would that work also

All of them will work. Any hardwood will be a good option. Oak is traditional I think but Mapple is a good choice. In my project I used Okume 3/4″ Block board and works great.

I lined my bar with maple plywood because the grain looked nice and somewhat matched the oak exterior grain. Then what sealed the choice was that maple was cheaper than both oak and birch plywood. If you check the gellery you can see the inside finished in maple plywood.
