1.)Are my calculations correct? I am about to cut the wood and it seems that I am short one 1×4 for the arm rest/trim

2.) Which screws are for which parts of the project?

3.) Why do I have to wait until I complete the bar top before I cut the wood for the arm rest?

4.) Do I have to make 45 degree cuts for the arm rest? If so , for which pieces?

Answer: I’ll check that out, but if you think you need it, add it to your shopping list.
Many times people want more (or less) trim than the plans specifiy. No need to follow the plan exactly, in fact modifications are what make each bar unique.

2.) Which screws are for which parts of the project?

Answer: As a recommadtion only… use 2.5″ screws (and glue) for all framing connections.
Use shorter screws or nails if you prefer for panels and finishing nails for attaching the bar top.
If special fasterners are required, they are usually called out in the step by step instructions.
The plans assume you are familiar with basic construction methods. Exact fastener positions are not shown in the drawings.

3.) Why do I have to wait until I complete the bar top before I cut the wood for the arm rest?

Answer: Because, if you made any error or variation in the published top dimensions, your arm rest will not match.
So, it is recommened to buid the arm rest to fit the top.
This goes back to “measure twice, cut once”.

4.) Do I have to make 45 degree cuts for the arm rest? If so , for which pieces?

Answer: No, you don’t have to. You can do 90 degree cuts as shown in Step 7 of the straight bar plans.
45 degree coners are for advanced builders who have access to a power (of good quality hand powered if using pine) miter saw to make clean cuts if using oak.

hope this helps…feel free to post any more questions on this or other topics.
