OK, I’ve read the instructions several times through, and I don’t see where/when a foot rest is attached to the main frame? Looked at the plans for the Straight Kegger Bar it appears the foot rest, made of 1″ clear pine, is installed near the end, along with other trim.

On the EHBP-01, item 11 on the Material Cut List is a simple 2″ x 6″ x 8′ (no cut required) “foot rest” that never appears in any of the construction diagrams, as far as I can see. Assuming it’s just added after the front paneling is attached, is is really meant to be just framing grade lumber?

It can be either. The 2x lumber is more durable if you need rough duty. The 1 x pine will work as well. Your choice.
